Zadkiel is regent of Jupiter and of Thursday. He is often
named as chief of the Fifth Heaven and the Choir of Dominions.
According to Jewish lore he was the angel who stayed the hand of
Abraham on Mount Moriah as he was about to sacrifice his son
Isaac. He is one of the two chief generals of the Archangel
Michael, joining him in the heat of battle with the infernal
hosts. As the ruler of Jupiter, he is accorded all the
attributes and correspondences of that planet. Zadkiel is a
benevolent and jovial angel of mercy. A generous celestial banker
ruling all matters of prosperity, speculation, wages, and debts, he can
solve problems with banks and creditors, and will assist in efforts to
earn money as long as the ambition and nature of the work is
"clean." Zadkiel helps reconcile mundane law with Divine Justice,
and is the patron of lawyers and judges. He is visualized
as a kingly figure wearing violet and purple
with an aura or wings of radiant royal blue. A letter of petition
to Zadiel should be written in Theban script . It can be written in
blue or purple ink, on white or blue paper or parchment. To
perform a ritual invocation you should light a blue or purple candle,
burn one of Zadkiel's preferred incenses, and decorate your alter
with corresponding flowers or objects. Perform you invocation
while standing on a square of blue or purple silk. If any
of these correspondences should catch your eye or appear unexpectedly
in the days or weeks following your petition or invocation, you may
take it as a sign that your wish has been heard.
