Those wh feel ready to take on the great
responsibility and sacrifice involved in having children can invoke the
help of the Angel Lailah to help then conceive. Lailah is
the Angel of Conception, whose energy is very feminine. She
is probably synonymous with Lelahiah, in Kabbalistic lore, one of
the 72 angels bearing a letter of the Shemhamphora, the mystical
name of God. The ideal time to try to conceive when invoking
Lailah's help is at night, preferably a Friday night, ideally at New
Moon.
Obviously, though, the ovarian cycle will be an important guide.
Light three candles, one red and one white, and a green one between
them, signifying the child to be born from the union of male and
female. Sandalwood is a suitable incense to burn. A prayer
of invocation may be recited along these lines:
In the name of the Almighty,
Who has given birth to all things,
I invoke you, great Angel Lailah,
As Angel of conception,
To grant me/us the gift of a child,
Which I/we will love and cherish
And give every opportunity to be its own true self.
