Sagnessagiel is the Prince of Wisdom. Enoch lists his name as one
of the many names of Metatron, considered in some
traditions as the highest-ranking angel, Prince of the Seraphim,
and Guardian of Humanity.
Wisdom differs from knowledge in important respects. To be
knowledgeable is to have accumulated many facts and details through
learning. To be wise, on the other hand, is to have the gift
of understanding, good judgment based on intelligence and
experience.
If we wish for greater wisdom in order to preceive the mysteries
of life, or better judgment in our day-to-day lives, then we can
invoke the great Angel Sagnessagiel to bestow some of this grace
upon us.
In the name of the Almighty Creator,
Whose wisdom is faultless and absolute,
I invoke you, great Angel Sagnessagiel,
And humbly implore you to give me the grace
Of great understanding.
May I lead my life more wisely
And see things as they really are,
I honour and thank you for hearing this, my prayer,
In the name of the Almighty.
This invocation, or one of your own should be addressed to the
four sacred directions working east, south, west and north. Burn
some sage and light nine candles - nine being symbolic of truth, which
is the reward of the wise.
