Little has been written about the Angel Mahzian, but tradition has long recognized him as the angel to invoke in order to restore or improve eyesight. To achieve the best results it is worth considering some astro-alchemical lore in connection with the eyes. The Sun rules the right eye of man and the left eye of woman, while the Moon rules the left eye of man and the right eye of woman. So, whether the left, right or both eyes need healing, the best time to invoke the help of Mahzian is at the sunrise on the day of the Full Moon.
There is a good chance that the Moon will still be above the horizon as the Sun's first rays appear, allowing one the greatest benefits of both these heavenly bodies. Rise before dawn and take a purifying bath or shower. Just as the Sun's first rays are about to appear over the eastern horizon, face the east and recite these words. (You may, of course, use you own words if you wish.)
In the name of the Almighty, Creator of all that is,
I beseech you great Angel Mahzian,
As restorer of the gift of sight,
To grant me the vision that I lack,
I honour and thank you with all my heart
For performing this, your duty,
In the name of the Almighty, our Creator.
Now turn to the south and repeat the prayer, then do the same to the west and the north. If you have one, or can borrow one, an eagle's feather, symbolizing sharpness of vision, can be used during the ritual. Gently brush your weak eye or eyes with it as you recite the prayer.
