DAWN RITUAL

This powerful invocation can reveal to the petitioner deep insights into divine mysteries and grant the fulfillment of  prayers.  It is conducted at dawn, just before sunrise.  The great Seraph Vehuhiah, who rules the first rays of  the rising Sun, is called upon to answer one's prayers.  Then Urzla, a glorious angel of  the east and revealer of  sacred mysteries, is invoked.

This ritual can be performed on any day of  the year, but is particularly powerful on the days that mark the cycles of  the solar year - the equinoxes and solstices.  The old solar festival of  Beltane  (May 1)  would be another good choice.  The most important factor, though, is that it should be a clear dawn so that you can see the sunrise.  The ritual should be performed alone, the petitioner having undergone a purifying periods of  at lease 24 hours, as outlined in previous threads.  It is best conducted in the open air, ideally in a peaceful spot with a clear eastern horizon.

Rise well before dawn to give you time to wash and dress - ideally in natural white cloth - and get to your chosen spot a few minutes before sunrise.  Begin by performing a Kabbalistic Cross, as described at the start of  the Pentagram Ritual.  Then address the Archangels of  the four cardinal points, starting in the east.  Raise both arms toward the east and say :

Great Archangel Raphael,
Prince of  Air and Lord of  the East, Hail!

Keeping your arms raised, turn to the south and say:

Great Archangel Michael,
Prince of  Fire and Lord of the South, hail!

Keeping your arms raised, turn to the west and say:

Great Archangel Gabriel,
Prince of  Water and Lord of the West, hail!

Keeping your arms raised, turn to the north and say:

Great Archangel Uriel,
Prince of  Earth and Lord of the North, hail!

With arms still raised return to the east, completing the circle.  Bow your head to the brightening horizon and let your arms come down to your sides.  As soon as the first rays of  the Sun appear over the horizon, raise your arms again, saying:

Hail, Vehuhiah, oh Great Shining Seraph!
Her this, my prayer, in the name of  Our Lord.
I pray that ..........
I honour and thank you.  O Seraph, in the hope
That you will answer this, my prayer,
In the name of the Most High.

Lower your arms and bow toward the sun.  Relax and let the intent of  your words ripple upon the air and be carried by the Sun's brightening rays.  Now raise your arms to the east again and say:

Hail Urzla, glorious Angel of  the East!
Hear this, my prayer, in the name of the Lord.
Please reveal unto me a bright jewel of wisdom,
From the crown of  the One who is All Understanding,
To help me surrender to the light of  His love.
I honour and thank you for this gracious gift,
In the name of the Most High.

Lower your arms and bow you head, cupping your hands to your heart as if  to hold the angel's gift.  Stay with the silence for a moment and let the light flood your whole being.  The nature of  Urzla's gift may not be revealed to you immediately, but if  you plant it with care in your heart it will germinate and blossom into an eternal rose of  wisdom.  Conclude the ritual by addressing the Archangels of  the four cardinal points again, exactly as before, but adding  "and farewell!"  to the  "Hail!"   This is a powerful ritual, which should be performed only once you are familiar with performing invocations.
